After a long and prayerful search, it is with great hope and anticipation that we welcome Nega Megersa to Adams Thermal Foundation (ATF) in Ethiopia as our new Country Director, effective July 1, 2020. Nega will lead and work alongside our senior management team at our ATF offices in Addis Ababa. He will report to our Director of African Operations, Dr. Samuel Getachew from the U.S. Office.

Prior to joining ATF, Mr. Megersa served as the Program Manager for Voice of Wilderness Developmental Organization (VWDO), an Ethiopian non-profit NGO whose mission is to provide intellectual, social and economic empowerment to the community at-large focusing on women, children and differently able (disabled) individuals through integrated development work. Nega also has extensive experience in public and private schools as a teacher and administrator. He is also a Lecturer at MK College in Bishoftu.

According to Adams Thermal Foundation President, Mike Adams, Mr. Megersa is uniquely qualified to serve as the new leader of the organization. "We're tremendously blessed to have found someone with experience in education and programs which serve a demographic very similar to our own," said Adams. "We're also extremely grateful for our existing staff and the extra burden that they carried during our search for a new leader," added Adams.

Since he started with ATF, Mr. Megersa has been touring the academies in Hosanna and Ottoro in order to meet the staff and learn about our programs serving at-risk students and their families. "I am so glad to be a part of this organization because investing to educate children from the poor family is the best way to get rid of the yoke of poverty from the society”, said Nega. In addition, Mr. Megersa is excited about living out his faith through his new position at ATF. "Serving Christ is not about what you are saying but it is what you are doing, since what you are doing speaks louder than what you are saying," he added.

Once Nega has completed his orientation he will assist our team in developing the re-opening plan for the schools and other programs in the wake of the COVID pandemic. In addition, he'll be focused on strategic planning, staff development and resource development in Ethiopia. Now please join us in welcoming and supporting our new Country Director as he transitions into his new role with ATF.

Greetings and encouraging messages can be sent to the attention of NEGA MEGERSA at info@adamsthermalfoundation.org
